Tomorrow Is Out of View

(John McGie/Jon Lundquist)

TOMORROW IS OUT OF VIEW

I nearsighted optometrist
Tries to teach the blind to see
The lame are cured with nowhere to walk
While the rich ask for charity
The moon rising is bending low
And tomorrow is out of view
The world is made of no one but us
Now that I am missing you
Missing you

A puddle jumper in water-wings
Walks across the human sea
His savior works from nine to five
And likes to watch Jeopardy
The sun’s setting to the ends of the earth
And Cupid has nothing to do
The world is made of no one but us
Now that I am missing you
Missing you

All the world has heard
I love you
But it doesn’t mean a thing
If it doesn’t bring me back to you
Can’t you see
I love you?
Too bad you died
